The safari is mainly open from October to June where the jeep is allowed to go. The restricted period is during the monsoons when it is not allowed to go.
The winter months from the month of October that runs till March is said to be the best time to explore the Panna National Park. During this period the weather remains mild, pleasant making it perfect to discover the variety of wildlife and plants also. It is ideal for safari and outdoor sports and the temperature ranges between 4°C to 28°C.
The main advantage of this period is that due to cold weather you can go for a full day safari without taking stress about heat or humidity. Especially in the morning and evening time, there are a lot of animals visible. Also a number of migratory birds visit during this period of time, making it a winter delight. And post monsoon the leaves have grown in full green bloom all over best for photography.
Here the summer season begins in the month of April with extreme hot and humid climate. The intensity of heat makes it uncomfortable and also challenging for the safari tour. But a lot of wildlife can be spotted near the water bodies where they come to drink water. As a lot of water bodies dry up, so all the animals come together finding one place for water and at a single spot you can witness them all. The temperature varies from 24°C to 40°C.
And also the number of tourists is less, as very few prefer to visit because of the heat. Monsoon (mid-June to mid-October) is the off-season. Between 18°C and 36°C This is the off season period to visit the national park during the monsoons. Temperature is average between 18°C and 36°C but the heavy rainfall makes it unsuitable for the movement of safari. The park remains closed from June 15 to October 15 depending on the rain, as it helps the forest to rejuvenate. The water bodies level also increased. During the wet seasons in the Panna, all safari operations are suspended in both the core and buffer zones. Visitors are not permitted on the grounds of the national park.
